Crossing Patrol update

Crossing Patrol update

You will probably have heard by now that Joan Rowland, our wonderful crossing patrol on Worthing Road, has broken her wrist. Sadly, she will not be able to work for the foreseeable future and we are unlikely to see her back this side of the summer holidays.

So many of you have kindly asked after Joan and we have passed on your many good wishes and kind thoughts which have been gratefully received by her.

West Sussex County Council have now trained Mrs Morris, Mrs Strong and Mr Strong and we are sure you won’t have missed us in the new uniform they have also equipped us with!

As explained previously, it is not always possible for one of us to be on duty to help children and families cross, so please speak to your child/ren about road safety and make sure suitable arrangements are in place for them to get to and from school safely.

If there are any volunteers who would be happy to support in Joan’s absence please contact the office so we can advise WSCC.

We have been very impressed with how polite and well mannered all of the children have been when crossing, always remembering to say thank you and waiting to be told when it is safe to cross. What brilliant young citizens!
