To the children and staff of Summerlea School,

We are writing to thank you for your generous donation this Harvest, Summerlea School contributed 223.9 kilograms, which will help us feed an extra 24 people in the coming months.

So far in 2018, we have given three days’ emergency food to over 800 people from our local community, a 17% rise on this time last year. The most common reasons for referral are low income or benefits delays, but we also see people who are disabled or ill, in debt, homeless or fleeing domestic abuse. Your kind donation will help us to aid even more individuals and families in these situations; it will also enable us to help those who have been managing but who will begin to struggle as the winter months push fuel bills even higher.

Without the support of schools such as Summerlea many people in Rustington, Littlehampton, East Preston, Angmering and Arundel would be going hungry. Thank you once again for your help and generosity; it’s truly appreciated.
