2017-18 Outcomes

Please follow the links to the right to view our 2017-18 results.

Key Stage 2 performance tables will be soon be published. We are writing to you ahead of this to summarise our outcomes for the academic year 2017-18. This letter also offers guidance in interpreting this information in the third year of reporting without levels, against the expectations of the 2014 National Curriculum.

As stated in previous communication, our performance is still well below National Averages despite having made significant improvement in mathematics and writing attainment.

We are currently on a journey of whole school improvement and there is still a lot of work to do in order to improve standards of achievement across the school. We have high expectations of all of our staff and pupils, and are confident that outcomes at the end of Key Stage 2 will continue to improve this academic year.  We were externally moderated last year and this provides quality assurance to our teacher assessment; 100% of our Key Stage 2 judgements for writing were agreed.

The Leadership Team are maximising their efforts to ensure outcomes improve and we remain entirely upfront and open about our school’s current position and the action being taken. Staff are fully committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all of our pupils and we have a strong team in place to take us forward. We are continuing to work closely with the Local Authority and are also receiving further School to School Support from Eastbrook Primary Academy.

Full performance tables will be accessible from Thursday 13th December at: https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk and a full set of our validated Key Stage 2 results will be published on our website, along with this link. Please visit www.summerlea.w-sussex.sch.uk > Our School > School Performance Data and also Our School > School Improvement for more information. In addition to reporting our Key Stage 2 data, we have also included a headline summary of our Key Stage 1 and EYFS outcomes.
