World Mathematics Championships

We sent a team of 6 of our best Year 5 mathematicians to the World Mathematics Championships, which was hosted by St Oscar Romero Catholic School on Friday 11th February 2022. This was the first time they hosted this event and one of the first schools in the country to hold it! We were really excited to be invited to join this event and show off our maths skills. 

The World Mathematics Championships is a competition which originated from South East Asia and is based on an alternative method of examining Mathematics, which is both collaborative and challenging. It was a fun-filled day, showing that maths is an exciting and energetic subject when passion and creativity are combined.

All the children who attend had a fantastic day, thank you so much to the parents, who supported their children with transport to and from the event, and Mrs Mills, who accompanied the children throughout the day.
