You will probably be aware that earlier this year the Chancellor decided that schools would be given a one-off capital injection to fund school improvements. We are pleased to be able to inform you that our school will be spending this additional money on two important projects under the headings of safeguarding and technology.
Safeguarding: We will be having an electronic gated system installed at the front of the school by the main entrance to the car park. This will make our school site more secure and our staff car park safer, as well as helping to ensure access is closely monitored. The children’s safety is paramount and this is a facility many larger schools now benefit from.
Technology: We already had a schedule in place to replace some of our Interactive White Boards (IWBs); many of which are old and do not function reliably. This funding will allow us to expedite this schedule. As a key tool for teaching and learning, these more modern and improved IWBs will be greatly welcomed by teachers as an exciting addition to our classrooms for the children.
We will keep you up to date with both of these projects over the coming months.
